Named it suzui-rs, because suzuki, UI and rust.

Has a lot of data, going over the features that help me the most.

Engine load

Engine is small 1300cc, and driving with A/C on really pushes it. Load gauge really helps me learn which rpm range is good for certain driving conditions.

Have the gauge blink red when engine lugging (load is > 85 while rpm is low < 2500), so i either let off throttle or downshift if power is really needed.

Radiator fan

I can feel the fan sometimes when idling, but not when moving. Combined with coolant temperature I can keep track of when radiator fan turned on, and how soon the coolant temp started going down.

One time before the scanner was built, my radiator fan relay went bad and it was only when I got home and heard fan come on, that I realized the sound is very different.

Popped the hood and realized it’s the A/C condensor fan that turned on, and then saw temp needle was at 3/4. Learned about this extra mechanism that the car turns on A/C condensor fan as well if temp reaches 3/4, regardless if radiator fan is running or not. One last effort by car to try to cool itself.

Vehicle speed

I know, “Shehriyar, there’s already a big speedometer right in front of you”.

Yes, but did you know they lie, as in show higher reading? Mine lies after around 80kph. If speedometer shows 120, I’m going around 118.

Now i can aim for going EXACTLY 120kph, while car’s own speedo shows 122kph or something.

Trip Odometer

Using vehicle speed to measure travel distance (trip). Made me realize car’s mechanical trip meter is ~3km slower, probably due to mechanical wear.

Fuel economy

Now this.. this GOOD.
